The below list outlines pre-departure covid test requirements for selected international airlines departing from Sydney Airport. Please note this information is correct at the time of publishing and should be used as a general guide only. You must ensure you check and understand the requirements for pre-departure testing and certification for your airline, transit location and final destination.

- Air Canada
Test Required: Many countries, including Canada, require proof of a negative COVID-19 test as part of your journey. Depending on your destination, a negative test result taken within a specified time frame may be required prior to departure, upon landing, or both. Certain countries require a negative COVID-19 test result even if you are only connecting through to another destination. You may not be able to board your flight without the correct documentation for your destination(s).
All customers 5 years of age or older entering Canada from an international destination are required to provide a negative COVID-19 molecular (PCR, NAT/NAAT or LAMP) inside 72 hours before final boarding.
Other Details: Antigen tests are not accepted for entry into Canada.
Air New ZealandTest Required: As per the requirements to enter NZ you will need a Negative COVID-19 PCR test taken no more than 3 days prior to departure flight to New Zealand. A test is not required if you are transiting for less than 24 hours unless it is required by your final destination.
Other Details: Children under 2 are exempt
All Nippon AirwaysTest Required: All passengers entering Japan from overseas are required to submit a certificate proving a negative test result for COVID-19 that was conducted within 72 hours prior to departure for Japan. This requirement applies to passengers of all nationalities arriving from any country/region.
Other Details: The 72 hours prior to departure is calculated from the scheduled international departure time of the last point of departure for Japan
Cathay PacificTest Required: As most destinations require a certificate indicating a negative COVID-19 PCR test result in English, please ensure you have the necessary documents ready in order to travel.
Other Details:
Delta AirlinesTest Required: All travellers arriving into the U.S., including U.S. citizens and non-U.S. citizens, must have proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 1 day of initial flight departure, or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 in the past 90 days. Non-U.S. citizens must be fully vaccinated and have proof of their vaccination. All customers must also sign an attestation and provide contact tracing information.
Other Details: The test must be an approved test which includes RT-PCR
EmiratesTest Required: You must complete the test requirements of your final destination. If you are staying in Dubai, then you may require a negative RT‑PCR test prior to departure depending on your circumstances. If you are transiting Dubai only, then you will only need a test if your final destination requires it.
Other Details:
Etihad AirwaysTest Required: You must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 48 of your departure, before every Etihad Airways flight, even if you are just transiting through Abu Dhabi.
Other Details: Self administered tests will not be accepted.
Fiji AirwaysTest Required: Effective 1 January 2022, all travellers from Travel Partner Countries 12 years and above must now produce either a negative PCR test taken no more than 2 calendar days prior to the scheduled day of departure or a negative medically supervised rapid antigen test within 24 hours of flights departure . This applies to all travellers disembarking in and transiting through Fiji.
Other Details: Travellers must have medical travel insurance, with international coverage that covers COVID-19 before travelling.
Garuda AirlinesTest Required: You must show a negative RT-PCR test result which sample taken in the country of origin within a maximum of 3 x 24 hours before departure upon health checks or attach it on the Indonesian eHAC system on the PeduliLindungi App

Japan AirlinesTest Required: All passengers entering Japan from overseas are required to submit a certificate proving a negative test result for COVID-19 that was conducted within 72 hours prior to departure for Japan. Phillipine AirlinesTEST REQUIRED FOR ENTRY: Negative COVID-19 Test (RT-PCR) Result taken within 72 hours prior to departure OR Negative COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) taken under medical supervision 24 hours prior to departure. A rapid antigen test (RAT) (also described in some countries as a lateral flow antigen detection test or similar). This must not be confused with a lateral flow antibody detection test. Serology tests are not accepted.

- Recently recovered passengers may be exempt from testing but are required to provide Certificate of Recovery as per the Phillipine Government requirements.
Qantas AirwaysTest Required: Qantas require you to present the negative test result according to the destination country's requirements and within the specified timeframe. If travelling to Australia, it must be an RT-PCR Test no more than 3 days prior to your scheduled departure.
Other Details: If you’ve tested positive for COVID-19 within the past three months, and a negative pre-departure test is a requirement for your trip, you’ll need to provide proof of recovery from COVID-19 documentation. This must be submitted to us at least seven days before departure, and you’ll still need to have a pre-departure COVID-19 PCR test
Qatar AirwaysTest Required: In case that government regulation requires you to present a negative COVID-19 test result on departure and/or arrival, Qatar Airways will verify this information at check-in and retain a copy of the test result.
Other Details: Please bring multiple copies of the test results with you and ensure you have ready to present at check in.
Singapore AirlinesTest Required: For passengers taking direct flights to Singapore, the pre-departure test must be conducted within two days before the scheduled departure date of their flight (e.g. if the pre-departure test is taken on 1 November 2021, it will be valid for departures up to 3 November 2021, 23:59 hours). The requirement for a pre-departure COVID-19 test does not apply to children aged 2 years and below (i.e. born in or after 2019).

United AirlinesTest Required: The CDC requires all travellers flying to or transiting through the U.S. from international destinations, including U.S. citizens regardless of vaccination status, to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than one calendar day before departure to the U.S. or documentation of recovery from COVID-19.
Other Details: Self administered tests will not be accepted.
